
The Center for Civil Society Promotion (CPCD) is one of the oldest and most influential civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider Western Balkans region.
Since 1996, CPCD has been dedicated to strengthening democratic values, promoting civic activism, and building a sustainable civil sector.

CPCD empowers civil society in BiH and the region by supporting good ideas, coordinating organizations and media, and creating space for democratic dialogue among civil, governmental, business, and academic sectors. Our goal is a free and open society that responds to the needs of all citizens.

Our Program Priorities (2024–2029)
Enabling Environment for Civil Society
We strengthen the legislative, financial, and operational framework for the sustainability of CSOs, media, and the academic community.
Citizen Participation in Decision-Making
We develop mechanisms for active citizen engagement in decision-making processes at all levels.
EU Integration and Civil Society
We support CSOs in the process of European integration through networks, capacity development, and cross-border cooperation.
Organizational Development
We enhance CPCD’s internal capacities and build effective cooperation with government and the business sector.
Legal Framework and Governance
CPCD was founded on June 10, 1996, and registered on July 15 of the same year. Re-registration was completed in 2000 in accordance with the Law on Associations and Foundations of the Federation of BiH.
Assembly
The highest governing body of CPCD, consisting of 16 members. It adopts key decisions, including the Statute, work plan, and financial report. The regular session is held once a year.
Board of Directors
Oversees the organization between Assembly sessions. Its members are:
